I chose to work in the veterinary field because I have always had a genuine love for animals and wanted to be part of a workplace where I could make a positive difference. When I joined Island Veterinary Hospital, I quickly realized how rewarding it is to work alongside a team that cares deeply about pets and their families.
My educational background is in business. I completed my MBA at University Canada West, as well as an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Sunderland in the UK. My previous experience in management, administration, team leadership, payroll, scheduling, and operations has allowed me to bring a strong combination of business and leadership skills to veterinary practice management.
The area of veterinary medicine that interests me most is the overall client and patient experience. I enjoy learning how the clinic operates, supporting our veterinary and support teams, improving our processes, and helping ensure that we provide the best possible experience for both our patients and their families.
What I love most about my job is the people. I truly enjoy working with a team that is passionate about what they do. Every day is different, and I love being able to support my team, solve problems, find ways to improve the clinic, and celebrate our successes together.
Outside of work, I’m a busy mom of two and love spending time with my family. I enjoy travelling, cooking, trying new things, and especially making Sri Lankan food for my family and friends. A fun fact about me is that I love cooking so much that my kitchen often turns into a little Sri Lankan food factory when I’m preparing food for the people I care about!
